Review
And last but not least, a review of Call of Duty: Black Ops, a game released on November 9th and being played by millions of players in the world every day.
Call of Duty has come a long way from its World War 2 days, what was once a single player focused PC only game, is now one of the biggest and most popular online games ever. This year Treyarch has yet managed to give the gamers an exciting sequel to the Call Of Duty series. As expected from a CoD game the presentation is amazing, the game looks good, plays smoothly and has great sound effects. You start the story as Alex Mason, a soldier being interrogated for information he can't remember. Through the game you play numerous of flashbacks originated from the Vietnam War trying to figure out what happened.
When it comes to gameplay you can expect pretty much the same as what you've seen with the previous COD games but now with a new jacket, enemies and allies are still pretty dumb and don't really react to situations... Of course many of us don't really care for the single player mode and go straight to the online multiplayer mode to get the experience they have been waiting for. While playing online you will enter a new world with 1 big change that people will love or hate; COD points. These points are used as "money" to upgrade your character and unlock various guns, modes, perks and equipment used in the online mode, which makes it a necessity to win any battles. Another new addition to the game is instant replay, (much like in Halo 3) where you are able to review matches afterwards and share them with your friends.
Also for the zombie killing lovers among us, one of the new game modes is "zombie mode" that can be played online or split-screen. The objective is to defend a location from hordes of zombies or project a famous historical person like JFK.
Call of Duty Black Ops is a great addition to the previous COD games. Even though the gameplay doesn't feel very new, the game has a number of great additions (for online play) that makes you want to play non-stop again and definitely a game worth buying.
