Games - World of Warcraft

Starcraft, Diablo, Diablo II, and the Warcraft trilogy are just some of the most outstanding games blizzard has to offer. Blizzard has been in the gaming industry for quite a long time, and never have they disappointed anyone with the quality of gaming they give to the gamers. From strategy games upto Role Playing Games (RPG), we can say that blizzard has been one of the greatest game providers in these fields. Some may think that Blizzard is already at its peak and their games would soon decline, but after a few years of development Blizzard was able to create a game taken from the concept of one of their famous strategy game, Warcraft, and gave it a whole new look. A change that everyone did not expect from Blizzard, that change was the World of Warcraft.

The World of Warcraft, awarded as the best PC game of the year (2004), is an MMORPG based from the campaign of the Warcraft trilogy. An MMORPG or Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game is a type of game where people from across the globe can meet up in the form of their desired and custom made characters. Through this game, there were a lot of positive feedbacks to which lead the game to its present state. The game World of Warcraft or WoW has been one of the most popular online games in the world. The game took the concept of an RPG, strategy and action to a whole new level. What's good about the game is it actually supports the Warcraft trilogy by serving as a storyteller to the unending war of the Alliance and the Horde. The trilogy basically had open endings to make the players wonder more about the story of the game, with WoW, it tries to patch loose ends by giving side stories, and the continuation of the Alliance versus Horde war.

People often see this game as yet another ordinary Player versus Player enabled RPG where after a some training they could already engage and then dominate the game easily. The game features a wide variety of characters each with unique abilities and background stories that supports the plot of the Alliance versus Horde war. The game starts of with the player choosing which side he/she would want to side with to fight the war. There are 10 character types, and 9 playable classes in this game, which gives the player a wider variety in choosing a character. It can be a combination of a Troll character with a Priest class, a Gnome Warrior or even a Blood Elf Paladin, it's all up to the player's creativity and strategy on how they would use the race's unique attributes and specialties to their advantage.

The game follows a certain storyline depending on which race the player chooses. This enhances the gameplay as the story is quite different from one race to the other, but as the game progresses the players can connect those different side stories in which they would be able to understand the whole story of the game. Through the game's large number of quests, the game would then be able to retain it's mysterious factor as the players strive to complete each quest that opens up different chapters in the game. WoW is definitely something a story-based-gamer would not get tired of playing.

The Hunger Games - What Does Panem Look Like?

The Hunger Games trilogy is set in some indeterminate time in the future...a time after great disasters and droughts. Early in the Hunger Games, Mayor Undersee reads the history of Panem (an annual ritual at the Reapings). It reads: "He lists the disasters, the droughts, the storms, the fires, the encroaching seas that swallowed up so much of the land, the brutal war for what little sustenance remained. The result was Panem, a shining Capitol ringed by thirteen districts..."

Some details are provided about the nature of some of the districts, but it's hard to get a visual on what Panem is like, how big it is and how vast (or not) the districts themselves may be. Panem, we know is located in North America. There are now only 12 districts (district 13 having been destroyed) where there used to be 30 states and provinces. We know that District 12 is small with a population of 8,000. It feels like everybody knows each other, and most residents can fit in the public square during reapings. The only buildings we hear about in The Hunger Games and Catching Fire are courthouses, mayor's homes and government buildings. There are no skyscrapers, large downtowns or suburban sprawl anymore. All the major cities could have been completely destroyed.

But while the districts might be small, it seems the land in which they reside is still quite large. We know the trains that take Katniss and Peeta around Panem travel at 250 mph. We also know that District 7 and District 10 are en route from District 12 to the Capitol. Here are some notes I've compiled about the things we know about Panem, the districts and some of the people who live there.

Capitol It says explicitly in The Hunger Games that the Capitol is in the Rocky Mountains. As in the other districts, it is likely that people in this area are named by the things around them. For example, mountains are snow-capped, giving us President Snow.

District 1 - Luxury Items - This district is known for supplying the Capitol with its luxury goods. The boy tribute, Marvel, is killed by Katniss (her first kill) and he killed Rue. The girl, Glimmer, is killed by tracker jacker stings.

District 2 - Industry unknown - however the two tributes are Clove and Cato. Clove is a spice grown from a specific evergreen that only grows in warm climates, native to humid areas specifically. Cato is killed when Katniss shoots his hand and Peeta pushes him into the horn of cornucopia and he falls. The muttations feed on him all night until Katniss finally shoots him to put him out of his misery. Clove is killed by Thresh, saving Katniss's life.

District 3 - Factories, electronics and explosives. Wiress & Beetee, as well as the boy who re-creates the land mines in the Hunger Games, are from District 3. The boy tribute (name not known) was killed by Cato because he did his job a bit too well setting up the mines from the platforms to protect supplies. Girl (also unnamed) dies on first day.

District 4 - Fishing. Tributes from this district excel at swimming, and it is indicated they come from a warm climate (Finnick is shirtless much of the time). In The Hunger Games the boy tribute dies the first day at Cornucopia. The girl was killed from Katniss dropping the tracker jacker hive/nest on her.

District 5 - Industry unknown - The boy tribute dies on the first day. Peeta kills Foxface accidentally with poisonous berries.

District 6 - Industry unknown - what we do know is that in Catching Fire, Twill and Bonnie, were able to jump the train outside District 6 and walk in a matter of days to District 12. This means it would have to be reasonably close to District 12. Both tributes from District 6 died on the first day.

District 7 - Lumber/Trees - nothing is really known about this district. Both tributes died on the first day of the Hunger Games. Johanna Mason though, is dressed as a tree for the parade before the Quarter Quell.

District 8 - Textiles/Clothing - In Catching Fire we meet the refugees from District 8, Twill and Bonnie, names that coincide with the main industry of their district. They describe it as being "chilly". Katniss remembers that it was an "ugly, urban place...with no chance to learn the ways of nature."

District 9 - Generates Electricity - The boy tribute died the first day. The girl died on the morning of the second day; she was the one who lit the fire under/near Katniss's's tree and led the Careers to her.

District 10 - Livestock / Cattle - Katniss mentions that the District 10 tributes are dressed as cows with glowing belts. It's unknown how the boy tribute died, but it was in the morning of the day Katniss blows up the Careers' supplies. The girl tribute died on the first day.

District 11 - Agriculture/Orchards - Rue specifically cites orchards, and climbing trees. When traveling to District 11 on the Victory Tour, Katniss observes an extreme temperature difference - the snow where she is from against it being quite warm in winter. Katniss also wonders how far south they've traveled on the train. Cato kills Thresh while the District 1 boy kills Rue.

District 12 - Coal Mining - This district is described as being in the area formerly known as Appalachia. The district is also pretty compact compared to some others with a population of just 8,000 people. There is one big clue to where district 12 might be, that we don't get from reading the book, but from listening to Suzanne Collins read it. She reads Katniss with a southern accent.

District 13 - Graphite Mining / Nuclear Power - There is speculation that some of the inhabitants may have moved underground after the district was destroyed. It is also described as once being the furthermost district, beyond District 12 (in its absence, District 12 is described as "the end of the line").

Fun Nintendo Wii Games For Young Children

Young children love to play video games and many experts say spending sometime doing so can help with hand and eye coordination. Of course you do want to limit the amount of time a child plays the Wii so that they don't become too dependent upon it for their entertainment. They should still be exploring their skills and developing their creativity.

Since it is important for children to become active from an early age, the Wii Sports package that comes with the gaming console is a good one to start with. There are many different ones to choose from. They can help your child get some basic skills they can use for little league as well.

Children about 8 years of age may really enjoy the Madden NFL football. If they have favorite teams and players then they will really love being able to choose them. There are several versions of the Madden NFL games too due to the popularity of them. This is a great game that children can play with their parents too. The kids will be able to grasp the concepts easily and the parents won't feel like they are playing a little kids video game.

Mario games are always fun for people of all ages. The Mario Kart game is one children from the age of five up will really get a kick out of. They get to use the steering wheel accessory to play this game too if you invest in one. You will find it adds a new dimension of fun to this game though. Playing it with the regular Wii controller just isn't the same.

Keeping Mario in the track and racing to the finish line is going to provide them with hours of fun. You will get plenty of laughs out of it as well. Watching your children go in circles and even driving full throttle backwards is enough to make any parent giggles with amusement.

If your child is interested in outer space then there is another Mario game they would like. It is called Super Mario Galaxy and it is fun for those about 7 years of age and older to enjoy. For those children who enjoy games that are puzzles and will exercise their brain consider either Boom Blox or Quest for Barbaros Treasure.

There are some themed Nintendo Wii games that your pre teens will likely enjoy. There are the games that are from the Star Wars Saga that everyone seems to love. There are also the Harry Potter games that both boys and girls of this age group will find exciting and challenging.

In order to ensure your children are enjoying the Wii you want them to have some games that are at or slightly higher than their age level. You should allow them to help you pick some of them out as well. Many parents don't like to invest a great deal of money in these games though. This is because their children will quickly outgrow them or just get tired of playing them.

A great way to save money and to still give them plenty to play with is to buy used Nintendo GameCube games. They are backwards compatible so they can be used with the Nintendo Wii. Even if the games don't come with instructions you can download them from the internet if you are struggling to figure out the concepts and strategies for particular games.

You will need to pay attention to the likes and dislikes of your child when it comes to the games you buy them for the Wii. Some children don't like puzzles while others love them. Some won't play sporting games while others will want to play nothing else. Try to have a good variety of video games they can choose from though. They may pick up something new and find they are interested in it when they never knew that before.

The Best PlayStation 3 Games For Christmas 2010

If you are not a gamer yourself, then buying PlayStation 3 games as a gift for someone this christmas 2010 may prove to be a confusing business for you. There are so many thousands of games out there that you could be getting - how do you know which ones to go for? Well, hopefully this article will be of some use in helping you to sift through the bewildering range and pick out the best one for your loved one that they will really love to receive as a gift from you.

Here are my top 3 choices, based on the PlayStation games which are widely predicted to top the bestseller lists for christmas shopping this year, and on my own opinions about the quality as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - There always seems to be a call of duty game out just before christmas to fully capitalize on the biggest sales period of the year, and they always come at or near the top of the best seller lists. This year will be no different with the release of 'Black Ops'. This is a first person shooter game, and if you are buying for a teenage boy that likes games where you shoot people, then this is undoubtedly the game they will want this year.
Gran Turismo - If you are looking for something a bit less violent then Gran Turismo 5, or GT5, would be an excellent choice. Its a car racing game, it's great quality, and it the fifth in an incredibly popular series.
Little Big Planet 2 - If you want something for a younger child, or for the whole family to play together, then this is set to be the number one game of 2010.

Educational DS Games - Which One is Right For Your Child?

There are many educational games for the Nintendo DS. From subject-specific games to all-in-one generalized teachers, from IQ-testing to barely-educational, Nintendo's catalog of educational DS games is a sprawling list. How does a parent make heads or tails of such a wide variety? How can a parent choose a learning game to fit a child's needs?

Well, we're here to help.

First thing's first with educational DS games:
Who's it for?

Some educational DS games are made for the younger crowd, 2nd grade and under. Some are aimed at the middle-school set. Yet more, usually created for the high schoolers or even university-level crowd, can hardly be called games in the traditional sense.

Decide which of your talented, happy children will be the beneficiary of your educational DS game purchase. If he's a young buck, you'll need to move towards the more colorful, easy learning games. These games often have famous characters like Spongebob or Mickey Mouse plastered all over the boxes - a sure-fire way to help the younger crowd engage with the educational game.

The middle crowd is often the most difficult for which to buy a learning game. They're smart - there's no tricking them with cartoon characters. Assuredly, they've played video games before, so the bare fact of being handed a Nintendo DS won't be enough for them to be satisfied with playing some dorky educational DS game. Unless you're blessed with a child who "takes" to learning like every parent dreams, the trick with the upper-grade school level and middle-school kids is to find a game that's entertaining enough for the child to look past the fact that he's learning.

Finally, with the older crowd - there's no trick. They'll likely get their own educational DS games, or know to ask you for a specific game, making the whole search much easier for you. With them, it's often unnecessary to mask the learning in the form of "edutainment," so "game"-makers focus on packing in as much learning material as possible. There are, of course, exceptions.

Educational DS games Part Deux - what do you want to teach?

There are ESL-teachers, basic arithmetic learners, vocab-busters, and IQ-testers, amongst many, many others.

What are you trying to do? Reinforce a skill? Teach the basics of a subject in which they're falling behind? Instill a life-long love of learning and educational gaming?

Much of what you end up buying will be dependent on what your intent is. Some games are fairly limited in scope - they promise to teach the rudiments of spelling, perhaps. Some will "stick to what they know," and do it well; for instance, there are a number of game makers who sell an entire line of educational DS games that teach one subject, and one subject only. Some games go even further, teaching a specific subject to a specific grade or age-level. And finally, there are the more generalized games, which usually offer a greater and wider variety of games, and are geared to last longer than a typical DS game's entertainment life.

Educational DS games Part Three - how much are you willing to work?
Here's the hard-look-in-the-mirror part.

Educational DS games are often a hard sell. Put a word like "learning" or "mathematics" in the title, and you kid's gut instinct will likely be to either cringe or smile and let it sit at the back of the closet, unplayed, forgotten.

The truth is, for ages 5-15 or so, you might have to show them how an educational DS game can be bearable. Even: fun. So, what kind of game can you stand to play? What kind of game will your kid put up with? Think about it: if you don't enjoy adding columns of numbers, your kid likely won't, either.

So: can you afford to sit down and play a few rounds of "math" with your child? Can you bear it? A child will play a game as dry-sounding as "Vocab for 5th graders" if you're there to make it fun. If you don't have the time or patience to invest, you're best finding a game that trends towards edutainment, or a generalized learning game.

And finally: how to choose an educational DS game for your kid
Take part one - your child's age. Take part two - what they'd need to learn. Then, part three - your level of investment. Finally, take a look at on-line reviews, see what other parents have to say.

For busy parents with kids of all ages, the best type of educational DS game is one of the generalized IQ-testers and learners. The "think" games, the "Brain" games; the ones that track a kid's IQ (or branded-equivalent) seem to last longest with children of all ages - the competitive nature inherent in an IQ-tracking game seems to stimulate and drive children, teens, and young adults to keep playing.

For parents with enough time to guide and cajole their kids into playing an educational DS game, games aimed at particular age groups, teaching particular subjects, are often the best idea. The targeted learning approach, when coupled with a parent's coaxing, usually show stronger results within the subject the educational DS game teaches than the generalized games. However, note that these improvements are limited to the subject the software teaches in the case of these specified teaching games, whereas with the generalized software, smaller improvements are generally seen across the board.

Play Guitar Flash Games

The big news for gamers in 2008 was the increasing popularity of rhythm and music games. With lots of these games coming out for consoles and handheld games, you could spend a fortune capturing your inner rock star. Thanks to guitar flash games you don't have to.

What are Guitar Flash Games?

Basically, these are games designed with Flash technology which are similar in style and fun to the types of games being played by millions of people on their home consoles. The biggest difference is that you use your computer instead of a console and your television. Plus, you don't have to drag out peripherals to enjoy the experience. You just use the same keyboard.

Why Guitar Flash Games?

While playing rhythm games on your computer may not replace the excitement of performing your favorite songs with a guitar-shaped controller, guitar flash games can be a lot of fun while you're working, waiting for classes, or just looking for a quick round of fun. Some of these guitar flash games have even been modeled after some of the most popular rhythm-based console games, even including some of the same songs.

Another benefit is the price. Guitar flash games are available for little or no cost on the Internet while console versions are going to set you back $50 to $60 just for the game and an additional $60 to $80 if you want peripherals.

Being the Rock Star

No matter which type of guitar flash games you choose you'll find they are a great way to release some of the inner rock star you've been keeping bottled up inside. You could rock out to a song while you're on hold with a client or while you're chatting with friends at your favorite social networking site.

The Most Addicting Games on the Planet

If you're an avid gamer, you' probably enjoy most genres of games and puzzles. Someone asks if you'd like to play, and you immediately say, "I'm in!" In an admittedly informal survey of avid gamers (and after some very heated discussions), here are the games that they claimed were among the most addicting games on the planet.

Video Games

When it came to addicting video games, many of my gamer friends voted for the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (for the GameCube) and WarioWare: Smooth Moves (for the Wii). The guys in the crowd were partial to the Burnout Series and the Gran Turismo series (for the Playstation). And those who were into role-playing games were vocal in their support of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (on the Xbox 360).

Board Games

All of my gamer friends love to play board games, and most named Monopoly as one of the most addicting games on the planet. Other traditional board games that ranked high included Scrabble and Risk. Some mentioned unique board games, such as Axis & Allies and Starfarers of Catan, while others stuck with Pictionary and Trivial Pursuit.

Card Games

When it came to card games, more than a few of my gamer friends admitted to having stayed up all night playing poker. Several owned high-end poker chip sets and planned their activities around their monthly poker games. There weren't any bridge players in the group, but several mentioned learning old-time card games from their parents and grandparents. The fondly reminisced about playing card games of canasta, rummy, hearts, and spades as they were growing up.

Kid's Games

All of my gamer friends said that they came from game-playing families, and that they started playing games when they were very young. Aside from card games like Old Maid and Crazy Eights, most ranked Chutes and Ladders, Sorry!, and checkers as all-time favorites. Those with kids said that some of the newer games for kids, like Cranium Cadoo and Pictionary Junior, were big hits at home, although one said that her daughter loved jigsaw puzzles more than any particular game - and had over 50 in her collection!

Strategy Games

When the subject of strategy games came up, there was an intense discussion of the merits of checkers, chess, and backgammon. The chess players in the group dismissed checkers as too simple, while the checkers players argued that the chess players were just brainiacs. Everyone did agree, though, that backgammon was one of the most addicting games on the planet.

Party Games

Naturally, all of my gamer friends often attended "game night" parties, and all agreed that 25 Words or Less and Taboo were two of the most addicting games on the planet. For more organized fun, many voted for Bunco, a mindless dice game played by 12 or more players. Everyone vouched for the fact that Bunco allows you to visit with friends while rolling the dice, accumulating points, and periodically screaming "Bunco!"

Obviously, every gamer is unique and has his or her own personal list of the most addicting games on the planet. But if you haven't dabble in those that my gamer friends recommend, give them a try - you might find them addicting as well!

Disney Cars Game

The Disney Cars game developed after the movie of the same name lets you race all those lovable characters in their own environment. You can race as your favorite character through Ornament Valley, Radiator springs or Tailfin Pass. The Disney Cars game can be played on OS X, Microsoft Windows systems, Apple Mac, PSP, PS2, Xbox 360, Xbox, Nintendo DS, Wii, Nintendo GameCube and many more.

However, the Disney Cars game does not repeat itself identically in every version. The game play in The PSP and Nintendo DS versions is different from the game play in the other versions.
Cars the movie games have several fun levels in the Nintendo DS version. You can reach levels of the Disney Cars game like Gesundheit!, Casa Della Tires, That Blinkin' Light, Piston Cup, World's best Backwards Driver, Tractor Tippin' and many more.

The Disney Cars game is more than just inspired by the movie of the same name, it was created to be a kind of follow-up to the film. When several racers play the Disney Cars game as their favorite character the game play changes according to their actions.

The game offers twenty road races, clips from the film, five Piston Cup races and numerous mini games. Math Games In The Classroom - Now Everyone Can Enjoy Math

You know who those students are. No matter what you do as a teacher, they just hate math. Perhaps there is a simple concept they never picked up in the earlier grades, or maybe they just don't care for numbers. You can make the class as exciting as possible, but some children are just more interested in other subjects. One way to motivate those students who really would rather be in another class is with computerized math games.

Math games do not replace the need for a teacher. There is nothing that educational software can teach in math that can be taught without a teacher. Math is one of those subjects that really requires an instructor. However, math games can be used to reinforce and reward in the math classroom.

Imagine if you are teaching junior high math and realize that some of your students do not know how to add and subtract. If you have to take valuable class time to teach these basic elementary math skills, the rest of your students will suffer. However, if this student group is not able to do simple addition or subtraction, they are going to struggle all year. One way to encourage them to practice in a fun, competitive way without detracting from the overall class is to allow them to play math games. Maybe time can be set aside regularly and designated as free time. Students who need to reinforce skills can get extra math practice and students already at grade level can start homework or be challenged at a higher level. Teachers can set up the math games so that they focus on areas that need reinforcement. You can make random groups and rotate them so all of your students get a chance to play during the week. This way, certain students are not identified and all students receive important practice.

One benefit of math games that is often overlooked is the fact that the students are working independently. Sometimes those students who struggle in subjects, especially math, are embarrassed about their difficulties. If you were to play a group practice game or ask them to answer questions orally, they might be too embarrassed to try their best. On the computer, however, these students are not faced with their peers. They can progress through the math games at their own level, gaining valuable practice each day.

As you are shopping for math games, you need to realize that there is a wide range of products available. You will still be able to find traditional math games. These are the games where students practice their basic facts with arcade-like programming. But, math games are no longer only the arcade-style games you may remember. You can find software that contains your students' favorite cartoon or movie characters. As they move through the levels they must answer math questions to proceed. Tracking student's progress and the cability to personalize lessons to the student's ability are features of some math game software. Students advance levels once they've reached competency on skills being worked on. Some math games have features that encourage and build analytical skills, problem approach, logic and systematic thinking. While your students may not realize this is math, you know that these thinking skills are essential to finding success in the subject. You can even purchase mystery programs where the students act as detectives solving "math mysteries."

Whatever program you decide to use in your math classroom, be sure to set aside time when the students can play math games. Interactive math games are one way to introduce and reinforce math concepts with an entertaining medium. With math games, math can become a little bit more fun for everyone.

Tablet PC Games

Tablet PC games include crossword puzzles, Microsoft Sudoku, and many war games that are more advanced in nature. News reports indicate that Microsoft is in the process of designing a Tablet PC game software development kit (SDK) and a new Tablet-PC-specific game, both meant to draw new developers and customers towards buying Tablet PCs. Another game that is being developed by Microsoft is the "Arc of fire."

The M4 release concentrated on Tablet PC-specific improvement, game-play development and incessant refactoring to develop performance. "Arcs of Fire" now runs in portrait and landscape modes, and re-sizes itself based on screen rotation. It also responds to system-wide power events, and can be held in suspended animation until the user restarts it. Gesture support has been added to AoF and the circle gesture to toggle sound, the square gesture to maximize or restore the game, and the star gesture to exit the game. Slate labyrinth is another tablet PC game that has a maze of roads, which are to be crossed.

Another popular tablet PC game is the Metroid, which does not have very good reviews on the Internet. Users of Metroid have complained about its awkward controls. There are many other puzzle games available on tablet PC's that can be downloaded from the Internet free of cost or as a shareware.

Any game that can be played on a normal computer can also be played on a tablet PC by properly downloading it or on a burn-and-share basis. Many companies also offer free games along with their software. Some of the software companies in the gaming industry are Valve Software, Id Software, Micropose and Lionhead studios. These are makers of some famous games such as Half Life, Doom, and Quake. The web sites of these companies offer these PC games for free or as shareware.

Employee Motivation Games

Every year at the major company event there are employee motivation games to play. Most of us dislike these games because the majority of them seem silly and pointless. Why waste our time with this is what employees usually complain about.

However, help is on the way. Out of all the employee motivation games played this one seems the favorite. Try a company scavenger hunt. The nice thing about this game is it does not have to be done during a major company event, although right before yearly inventory for smaller companies seems to be a good time. This will work for all companies. Large and small alike. You just need to have a set of company information for the employees to find out.

The reason the scavenger hunt is my favorite of all employee motivation games is that it is easy to set up and easy to play. It is also relatively fun. First, get a list of company information that you want the employees to find out. It can be date of incorporation, date the first product was sold/manufactured, who was the founder, what is the best selling product, and the list goes on. Once you have a set of information you divide the employees into teams. You can set departments against each other or you can have other ways of making teams. Set a time frame, especially if some of the items are hard to find or locate. Have everyone meet back at the designated time and declare the winner or winners. Be sure to have a prize for the winning team or teams.

This is a great game because it is different from the usual employee motivation games. The game is actually educational in nature. Instead of wasting time with seemingly pointless tasks, it actually teaches the employees about the company they work for. The more knowledge employees have about the company they work for, the better they are able to understand and relate to its mission statement and vision. By empowering employees with knowledge, you are inviting them to stay. Isn't this a fun and interesting way to help improve employee retention rates

Weekly Video Games Round-Up

Christmas is coming up again, streets will be covered with snow and families coming together to celebrate the holidays. This Christmas there will also be some great new games released that will keep you warm during this cold time like: World of Warcraft: Catalysm, Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam and NewU Fitness Mind Body Yoga & Pilates Workout. In this week's edition we'll give you all the ins and outs on these games and take a look back at the recently released game COD Black Ops.

Upcoming

World of Warcraft: Catalysm

On the seventh of December the moment will be finally there. The moment on which millions of World of Warcraft players are able to start playing the third of the WOW extensions called "Catalysm". Where the battle of the Lich King has just been finished, now a new evil is rising up and seeks to destroy the world of Azeroth. By setting the whole world up against you, how will you fight to destroy this? Deathwing the Destroyer has returned to Azeroth and welcomes you into the new World of Warcraft: Catalysm.

With new areas that are to be explored, being able to fly dragons and having countless of new dungeons and raids, Blizzard is able to bring back the WoW-factor into the game. The numerous of new challenges and quests is a guarantee for many days and sleepless nights for the big World of Warcraft fans among us.

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam

Although it's still early and the game has yet to be released at the end of December, it is worth looking at and letting you guys know what you can expect.

The new Battlefield is a digital expansion to the series and introduces four new distinct multiplayer maps, based on the Vietnam War. Each map brings a different experience with itself by using its different elements as foxholes, tunnels and dense jungles, where enemies can launch surprise attacks at any given moment. All and all, the Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam is a great expansion and gives gamers a whole new first person shooting experience which is worth waiting for. The game will be released on December 21st 2010 and will be available on Xbox 360, PC and the PS3.

NewU Fitness Mind Body Yoga & Pilates Workout.

Playing games using your body isn't that new anymore and people have gotten used to looking through windows seeing people make crazy movements in front of a TV. This was the new way of playing games when the Nintendo Wii was first introduced. Now there is a new way of turning your living room into a yoga classroom! The NewU game (released December 7th) allows you to exercise yoga and addresses to all your needs of mind and body. Whether you would like a slim waist or strong upper body, the "NewU Mind Body" has 117 standard and 4 core skills exercises and on top of that, also features breathing relaxation and meditation techniques to match your every need.

Review

And last but not least, a review of Call of Duty: Black Ops, a game released on November 9th and being played by millions of players in the world every day.

Call of Duty has come a long way from its World War 2 days, what was once a single player focused PC only game, is now one of the biggest and most popular online games ever. This year Treyarch has yet managed to give the gamers an exciting sequel to the Call Of Duty series. As expected from a CoD game the presentation is amazing, the game looks good, plays smoothly and has great sound effects. You start the story as Alex Mason, a soldier being interrogated for information he can't remember. Through the game you play numerous of flashbacks originated from the Vietnam War trying to figure out what happened.

When it comes to gameplay you can expect pretty much the same as what you've seen with the previous COD games but now with a new jacket, enemies and allies are still pretty dumb and don't really react to situations... Of course many of us don't really care for the single player mode and go straight to the online multiplayer mode to get the experience they have been waiting for. While playing online you will enter a new world with 1 big change that people will love or hate; COD points. These points are used as "money" to upgrade your character and unlock various guns, modes, perks and equipment used in the online mode, which makes it a necessity to win any battles. Another new addition to the game is instant replay, (much like in Halo 3) where you are able to review matches afterwards and share them with your friends.

Also for the zombie killing lovers among us, one of the new game modes is "zombie mode" that can be played online or split-screen. The objective is to defend a location from hordes of zombies or project a famous historical person like JFK.

Call of Duty Black Ops is a great addition to the previous COD games. Even though the gameplay doesn't feel very new, the game has a number of great additions (for online play) that makes you want to play non-stop again and definitely a game worth buying.

How to Fix Scratched PS2 Games

Even though the PS3 is quickly becoming popular, many of us have decided to stick to the PS2. There are more games, cheaper products, and more options for purchase. Heck, you can even download PS2 games on the internet. Of course, these games are going to get a lot of use (because they're awesome!) and eventually you are going to want to know how to fix scratched PS2 games. This article will help.

Is it scratched or just dirty?

Sometimes the problem with our game is not a scratch. Really, the PS2 will read a lot of games with shallow scratches but it really has a problem with caked-on gook. Try cleaning the disc before you attempt to fix the scratch (or you might do work harm than is necessary).

It's scratched! How do you fix it?

It's actually really easy to fix scratched PS2 games. This is what you need.

Baking Soda Toothpaste
a Lint-free cloth (an eyeglasses cloth is perfect)

Before you start you should know that it is not a good idea to wipe your disc in circles. Unlike old LPs (where you had to follow the groove), PS2 Games should be rubbed from the center straight to the outside edge. Wiping in circles does more damage and you want to avoid that.

5 Simple steps to fix scratched PS2 games

Put a little warm water on the disc.
apply a little toothpaste to your cloth
rub (as directed) over the scratched area and around it. If you have a lot of scratches then you should do the whole disc. 10-15 swipes from inside to out should do the trick.
rinse the toothpaste off
allow the disc to air dry

See? It's not hard to fix scratched PS2 Games at all. There is one problem to this method though; You can do it too often. Realize that you are grinding down the plastic surface around the crack to make the PS2 think it's shallow. If you do it too often then you will have no plastic buffer left and the foil data layer will get destroyed. For serious problems (or repeated damage) your best bet is to resurface the disc.

Watch NHL Games Online - Unlimited Hockey Games, no monthly

hockey team connoisseurs follow your favorites and see all the NHL games. But sometimes this is not possible for many reasons. I am a sports fanatic, but I'm always very busy and I never used to be able to follow my team as I wanted the game was online until I found a way to watch NHL.

I tried to watch NHL games online for a long time to be able to. I ran for the first time free services. But I soon discovered thatall these were absolute shit, for many reasons. Finally I gave the idea that I would be able to watch NHL games online for free and I decided to try some of the paid services. I rushed into buying a bad service because they have had an incredible sales pitch, but I learned something from this experience.

After this experience I decided to do my research, and all the reviews I've read, I discovered that the service is called Satellite TV for PC with the best servicethere. Many people watched the games online with NHL of the service and were very happy. After careful consideration I decided to buy this service because it seemed a good deal for $ 50. What I did not know was how good the deal really was. I have every single NHL game with online video, satellite and perfect sound quality without delays and a huge screen. I could watch the program every NFL, CFL, NBA games and all the channels and Iobtained from a service such as Dish Network has and I do not even pay any monthly fee. Another advantage I had was that I'm seeing on my laptop at work or wherever I wanted.

What is the catch to watch NHL games online? Well, I really can not say there is a catch to this, because I had service for 6 months now and I could not be happier. But some people do not like the fact that you have to watch NHL games online onComputer and not on a normal TV. For me, it really does not matter, because I have a big screen and big speakers. Even if you prefer, you can connect your computer to your TV standard and then I could not even tell the difference. Not bad for a one-time fee of $ 49 against $ 90 per month for DISH Network well.

Download Games To PSP-Four Easy Steps

Looking to download games onto PSP? Few people dispute the excellence and the versatility of the Sony PSP, but unfortunately many people consider the games themselves to be very overpriced. Fortunately, there are a number of places and methods we can employ to download games onto our PSPs, and better still it's even legal!

How to Download Games onto PSP- Step 1-

Your regular PSP games will come on disc, or UMD as they are known. When you download games onto PSP however, you are going to be putting them straight onto a memory stick/card. (Some people call them memory sticks, and some people say memory cards, but they are in fact the same thing.) The standard PSP memory card of 32mb is just not going to be big enough to download games onto, PSP owners should generally get the largest one they can afford. These days you can find fairly affordable 2 or 4 gig models on Ebay and Amazon quite easily. Once you have your new memory card, you will need to format it before use. This is basically like wiping the slate clean before use, so be sure to do it.

How to Download Games onto PSP-Step 2-

You will need to locate somewhere to download the games from. There are hundreds of places online that will allow you to download games onto PSP, but unfortunately they are not all reliable-if you go to the wrong places you will encounter many problems and can even find your computer riddled with spyware after. Not good! Be sure to choose a reputable site to download PSP games from-the most reliable ones are the ones that charge a small fee upfront and then give you access to unlimited downloads.

How to Download Games onto PSP-Step-3-

Once you begin downloading to your computer, be sure to only download files that end in "PSP" or have "PSP" in the title, as they are the only files compatible. You will occasionally find that the untrustworthy sites out there will try and give all kinds of files as downloads, so be sure to double check everything before you download it. When downloading the games I save them to a little folder on my desktop called "PSP Downloads, as it's simply the easiest place!

How to Download Games onto PSP-Step 4-

Now that you have a selection of games downloaded, you will need to transfer them from your PC onto the memory card of your PSP. This is pretty simple, all you will need is an ordinary USB cable to connect the two, and the PC should then identify the PSP as some form of removable drive, like a flashdrive or removable HD. All you need to do from here is to open up the PSP using the PC and drag and drop the required files onto the PSP memory stick, much as you would with any other removable drive. When you are doing this, be sure to send the files into folders called PSP, and then GAME on your memory card. If they don't exist you will need to create them, and I would recommend using all caps.

How to Download Games onto PSP-Step 6-

Once the transfer is finished you should be able to play the games on the PSP by simply opening up the GAME menu and selecting the games from the stick. Any errors or error messages are likely to be due to incompatible firmware-this is especially true if downloading homebrew games. You may find it necessary to downgrade your PSP in order to play these homebrew games.

Hopefully this guide has helped you see that it's not that tough at all to download games onto PSP once you get the hang of it, the real trick is finding a reliable download source!

Free PSP Game Downloads

Are you are looking for free PSP game downloads? If you own a PSP, then you probably know how expensive buying PSP games can be. Typically, a PSP game cost $29.99 and a new title can cost up to $49.99.

Let's say you brought a PSP game and after playing for a week, you complete the game or it becomes stale. What then? You have to fork out money to buy another one. As illustrated, it can be expensive in the long run.

If you are short in money, another viable option is to get free PSP game downloads. There are a lot of websites on the internet offering free PSP game downloads. An example is homebrew games. These games are designed and programmed by PSP amateurs and enthusiasts. They may not have the glitzy graphics of commercial psp games, but they are free and pretty fun as well.

However you do need to be aware that not all PSP game download sites are legal. Many are offering illegal PSP game downloads and you can face hefty fines if you are caught downloading.

Also, you do need to be careful of spyware and viruses that are embedded with the downloaded PSP game. Some sites offering free PSP game downloads are actually disguised scam sites which offers bad quality or non-working PSP games that are laden with a ton of spyware and viruses.

With that said, not all sites are bad. Some do offer genuine high quality PSP games for download. Most of these sites will charge a fee for downloading their collection of PSP games. I think it's quite reasonable and they usually allow you to download unlimited number of PSP games. Plus they provide better support and download speeds.

If you are considering purchasing these PSP download sites, I highly recommended getting one which has a money back guarantee so you can ask for a refund if it does not live up to your expectations.
